Oui, enfin, je veux dire qu'il se propose de vous faire découvrir le monde merveilleux et dangereux des finales à travers les imprécisions, erreurs, gaffes et gamelles des champions. C'est moins fondamental que d'autres ouvrages du bonhomme, mais c'est souvent amusant, toujours instructif, et au fond si rassurant...

Titre un peu flou : en fait, il est question ici de toutes les ouvertures avec 1.d4, mais sans c4 : Trompowsky, Torre, Colle, Système de Londres, Blackmar-Diemer et tutti quanti. Utile surtout pour les noirs, bien sûr.

L'auteur, psychologue et maître international, livre ses réflexions sur les échecs et propose sa méthode d'apprentissage. D'une grande franchise, cet ouvrage stimulant offre un contrepoint bienvenu au célèbre ouvrage de Watson Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy.
